Privacy policy
The short version: the only personal information we collect is an email address you type in yourself, and we may share it with mortgage providers so they can contact you about the market you were looking at. Nothing else about you is collected or sold.
What we collect

We do not ask for and do not collect your name, phone number, address, income, credit history, Social Security number, or any other financial detail. We have no account system and no passwords.
Sharing and selling your information
We share the email address and the market you unlocked with mortgage providers, and they may pay us for it. Under California law this counts as “selling” or “sharing” personal information, so we say it plainly rather than burying it.
What is shared is limited to: your email address, the county and loan type you unlocked, and the date. Nothing else, because nothing else exists.
A provider who receives it may contact you about that kind of loan. They are responsible for their own use of your data under their own privacy policy.
We also use Google Analytics, which sets cookies and processes usage data on our behalf. We do not sell analytics data to anyone.
Your choices
- Do not give us your email. Everything on the public pages — market statistics, the top lenders, the analysis, the methodology — is readable without entering anything.
- Opt out of sharing, or delete your data. Email hello@fatboydata.com with the address you used. We will stop sharing it and delete it. This is the Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information right under California law, and we honour the same request from anyone, anywhere.
- Unsubscribe. Every email we send has an unsubscribe link.
- Ask what we hold. Email us and we will tell you, and send you a copy.
- Analytics. Browser Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals are respected as an opt-out of sharing.
How long we keep it
We keep an email address until you ask us to delete it, or for 24 months after your last visit, whichever comes first. Aggregated statistics that cannot identify you are kept indefinitely.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has given us an email address, tell us and we will delete it.
Security, and what we cannot promise
Data is transmitted over HTTPS and held with reputable hosting providers. No system is perfectly secure, so we do not claim otherwise. Because we collect so little, the worst case is limited to an email address and the market you were curious about.
Changes and contact
